First off, we'd like to greet all our readers a Happy Easter! ^_^
We're starting this new season with a post about a wonderful wedding we worked on last year: that of our friends', Noel & Rae. We have to admit that because of the pace of their planning ('glacial' & 'laid-back' were the best words that came to mind, ha ha!), we ended up slowing down as well. In fact, we only got to plan the actual flowers to be used the night before the wedding day. We only secured the Amaranthus ahead of time and the rest were taken from available supplies. While this is not our usual way of working, it brought us real joy to buy flowers at random: it's actually more our style, akin to picking fresh flowers from a meadow. We think it's all apt because Noel & Rae are actually very relaxed people, unfazed by challenges (if they were worried, they really didn't show it) and gave their suppliers their full confidence. Sure, they had planning hiccups along the way, starting with the stylist who went MIA days before the wedding but fellow florist, Teddy Manuel, came in to save the day for them.
We're very happy to have been a part of this wonderful celebration. The theme is very close to our heart, being a consummate fan of architectural forms, and we loved the collaterals that the couple prepared: their Art Deco-inspired invitation suite (designed by Rae's sister) was the first thing that blew our minds away! Done in matte gold, it was pure brilliance. Our own craft team, {etc} Handmade Goodness, didn't disappoint: Lorreyn (one of Noel's former client-brides) made Art-Deco inspired boutonnieres using fabric, feathers, and beads - a most wonderful addition to their details. Joel Escober's gown was a vision: we can almost imagine a scene out of The Great Gatsby. Most of the guests actually dressed the part, and that was just amazing!
To Noel & Rae, thank you for your friendship. We pray that your love lasts beyond your lifetimes, and that He grants all the wishes of your hearts. All the best! ^_^
