"...to have and to hold, from this day forward..."
Sometimes we're lucky to meet very interesting couples like Vince & Jo. We first met Vince during his ocular visit to our home base, The Mango Farm. He did most of the initial preps in Manila and we only met Jo when she came home from the US. While Vince was mostly quiet and stoic / calm during the early part of the preps, he became warm and doting as soon as Jo got back. It was really so nice to have them visit us as we usually would talk for hours about anything wedding.
Hands down, this was one of our most favorite weddings at the Farm. More often than not, we get to see more Rustic or Shabby Chic-themed weddings here because the venue is perfect for it. However, despite us being an avowed fan of the SoCal look, deep inside we're actually a New Yorker. We're huge fans of Art Deco, theater, museums, the old buildings of the East Side, Truman Capote, of the hustle and bustle, and the yellow cab. My friends in the US all swear that we will definitely feel at home in bohemian Greenwich Village, but that's another story.
Going back to this wedding, we just love the choice of black and gray as main colors: very edgy and modern without being too formal. Most of their details are actually quite sleek & sharp beginning with the invitation suite to the cut of the gowns to the reception table. Providing some semblance of softness, of course, were the entourage flowers and the church decor, the latter done rather exquisitely by our very good friend, Justine Bumanlag of SaSO Event Styling (thanks so much for doing this for us!).
Despite the flooding and the continuous threat of rain, everything was just beautifully captured by J Lucas Reyes. The love and affection really shines through the photographs and reminded us of Truman Capote's line in Breakfast at Tiffany's where he wrote,"Home is where you feel at home." Truth be told, we feel that Vince & Jo have already found theirs. ^_^
